CMS Proposes Indoor Visitation – Waiting On LDHH Guidance
We are eagerly awaiting permission from the Louisiana Dept. of Health and Hospitals to ease family visitation rules per new CMS Guidelines issued March 10. Basically, the guidelines would allow for responsible indoor visitation for all residents, regardless of the vaccination status of the resident or visitor. Over 90% of Forest Manor’s residents have been vaccinated and we are continuing to ensure newly admitted residents are vaccinated through local providers.
Of course, maintaining the safety of our residents is our priority. Given that Forest Manor has not had a patient test positive for COVID in over a month, coupled with the responsible safety precautions we take, we look forward to supporting responsible family visits and welcome the State’s guidance.
We understand how important it is for seniors, including our residents, to engage with their loved ones through personal interaction and visits. The guidelines, if approved by the State, put us one step closer to normalcy. However, we all need to help minimize community spread of the virus by wearing face masks, social distance and regular hand washing.
